Consists of a copy of the survivor testimony "Recollections from my life's experiences" written by Sophie Machtinger in Polish. Also included is an English translation by Douglas Kouril. The testimony describes Machtinger's experiences in the Lodz ghetto, her observations of the actions of Chaim Rumkowski, her account of the liquidation of the ghetto, her deportation to Auschwitz along with her family, and her transport to Stutthof and Dresden near the end of the Holocaust.

Sophie Machtinger is a native of Lodz, Poland, and a surivivor oft he Holocaust. She was forced into the Lodz ghetto early in its existence and was later deported to Auschwitz when the ghetto was liquidated.
